Real World Review 2017 Honda Ridgeline – Our Choice For Truck Of The Year

In the world of pickup trucks, larger, louder, taller, wider, just more of everything is usually the mantra. However, when you think about how you as a “normal” person, not a contractor, or skilled trades person would use a half ton truck do you really need a “Bro-Dozer” or a “Bro-Truck”?

For day to day living, for the trips to Home Depot/Menards/Lowes/Ikea/etc., this is probably all the truck you will ever need. Nissan Frontier, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canyon all try to be “Bro-Truck” Jr. The Ridgeline, it just goes about its day getting things done.

First Take: 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

We were invited by Honda down to Ohio to have a first drive of the 2014 Accord Hybrid.  This new hybrid has some unique technical items, like a CVT transmission that isn’t really a transmission, that we hope to get to shortly.
Honda advertises 50MPG City, 45 MPG Highway and 47MPG Combined.  We all know that what hybrids advertise on a sticker and what they get in the real world, with real drivers tends to be something quite different.  Turns out though that this hybrid actually delivers on the numbers.  And, if we are honest, drives better than the regular gasoline Accord.
What else did we think?  That’s what we find out on this episode of Rumblestrip.NET and Ten Minute Test Drive

RoundAboutShow #24 The “Not So Fast” Episode

So, you’re a crook in Hoboken with designs on a couple Land Rovers that don’t belong to you? You think you have the perfect getaway planned, but not so fast. Those SUVs you’ve just stolen are probably driving about as fast as the Deja Vu Strippermobile down a crowded boulevard in Florida. But if you think that’s the only place you’re going to see a booty shaking out the back of a car, then you haven’t met the pink lady of NASCAR. All that and more in this ‘Not So Fast’ edition of RoundAbout. Plus we’re back with America’s favorite gameshow The Price is CORRECT, Miss MotorMouth has a doozy of a tale about when Malibu meets a train (standing still), and we’ll actually provide some useful car advice (what?!?) in our Tip of the Week!

RoundAboutShow #19 NAIAS Post Mortem

Well, the North American International Auto Show–otherwise known as the Detroit Auto Show–has made all the news it’s going to make for this year. It was a rocky year for the Motor City, and in a way, it really showed at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The digs might have been better than last year (Chrysler was a series of unadorned cars on beige carpet in 2009), but the product reveals were notably less exciting. With the patient on the slab, we called in the best team of doctors we know … our … selves. Well, anyway, we’re here with the official RoAb postmortem of NAIAS.

Is the new Cadillac XTS worthy of being the luxury brand’s new flagship? Does the Volkswagen NCC bring anything new and exciting to the German marque? Will the Honda CR-Z finally be a hybrid that’s fun to drive? We debate all these and more. Plus we’ve got another installment of our new Meet Your Roadmates segment, a Stupid Car Trick and the triumphant return of the long lost Psy-car-logy.
