Reviewed 2013 Chevy Cruze Diesel: 45+ MPG Is Easy Like Sunday Morning

The auto enthusiast community has been clambering for a small diesel car, from a U.S. manufacturer, for quite some time.  Chevy has answered their call by bringing the 2.0 Turbo Diesel engine from Europe to the U.S. and placed it in the Cruze, and it is set to go head to head with the Volkswagen Jetta.
The Cruze on it’s own is a pretty solid car, however, once you put the clean diesel engine in the car, does it make it better, worse, or the same?  Will American’s take to a clean diesel car from a U.S. manufacturer that gets 30mpg in the city and almost 50mpg on the highway?
That is what we find out on this episode of Rumblestrip.NET and Ten Minute Test Drive.

First Look: 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT

Hyundai invited us out to have a look at a few new models in the line up, but for this review we are going to look at an extention of the Elantra line, the Elantra GT.

Back in March of last year, we spent some time with the Elantra Sedan and came away liking the car quite a bit and thought it was a really good value for the money.  Now, Hyundai have expanded the line to include a two door Coupe modele and this five door GT model.

We didn’t have a ton of time with the car but it did remind us of all the things we liked about the Elantra, plus it has the flexibility of a five door configuration.  Have a look at the video, and you can look over all the pictures below.

Reviewed: 2012 Ford Focus Titanium

Back in January we had the opportunity to head out to Los Angeles for the press launch of the 2012 Ford Focus and came away very impressed with the car.  However, we only got to spend a couple of hours with the car, we wanted to know, it those good first impressions would hold out on a longer review.

So, did we end up liking the Focus as much as we did in California?  How did it stack up against the Hyundai Elantra? Have a look at the video to find out!

First Drive 2012 Ford Focus

We had the chance to head out to Los Angeles to drive the new 2012 Ford Focus in this hills and canyons of Malibu and the surrounding area.  Ford is looking to completely take over the c-segment section of the market from Honda, Toyota and others.  Chevy and Hyundai have new competitors in this market as well with the new Cruze and the Elantra which should keep everyone on their toes.

Have a look at our first impressions of the Focus and some pictures as well.  Provided the Snowmageden coming later in the week doesn’t postpone it, we shoud be getting a chance to drive the Elantra later in this week as well, should make for a nice back to back comparison.
